About SU email lists

To send a message, mail it to the name of your list at listserv.syr.edu. For example, if the list is CCSPP, you would send it to:

ccspp@listserv.syr.edu

Be sure to send the message using the account from which you subscribed to the list (or the account you gave your instructor): the listserv software will only accept messages from list subscribers, and it insists on an exact match between the return address of an incoming message and one of the addresses on the list.

If the internet provider you use for your email has a "whitelist" feature (which would cause it to reject all incoming email except for those from known addresses on the whitelist), you'll need to add the following address to your whitelist in order to receive email from an SU listserv mailing list:

listmgr@mailbox.syr.edu

If you don't know what a whitelist is, you probably don't have one and don't need to worry about this.
